English Language Proficiency Skills Among High School Students: Basis for an Intervention Program

Speaking proficiency has special value anywhere in the world. It needs to be possessed by every individual bring change society. This clenches amplified direction of current study, where its primary objective is assess speaking skills SHS-HUMMS students DNHS. study envisioned identifying factors terms grammar, vocabulary, aspects discourse, pronunciation, and interaction. utilizes quanticorrelational descriptive method, which uses purposive sampling procedure. Standardized rubrics for were utilized, tabulated, interpreted using appropriate tools. was further validated concurrent opinions two language experts area linguistics. Overall, findings revealed a peculiarity proficiency. surfaced after data treated with statistical measures frequency percentage, Kruskal-Wallis H-value pairwise comparison, ANOVA, Shapiro-Wilk multi-variant normality. explained contingency table. Furthermore, results showed no significant difference between levels indicators affecting skills. Two that affected respondents’ skills, however, pronunciation an intervention program put place order address problem respondents.
